A photographer sees a world that others only look at.
It is my belief that a good photograph is more than just the capturing of
an image or a passing moment in time. A good photograph has the
ability to speak a silent language, yet still leaves much for the viewer to
interpret.
I have been interested in photography for as long as I can remember.
As a small child, I took my first photographs using my parents’ Kodak
Brownie camera.  I received my first camera, a Polaroid Swinger, as a
gift when I was ten years old.

I worked as a commercial photographer in the late 1970s and was an
active member of the Professional Photographers Society of North
Florida.  I entered Society sponsored competitions on a regular basis
and won first, second and third prizes on several occasions.

I left the commercial photography business in 1983 to raise a family and
pursue other interests.  After raising my family, I decided to pursue
photography as an art form.
My choices of subject matter reflect my strong interest in both nature
and architecture. I am equally happy framing the perfect shot of a flower
or searching for the right angle on an architectural detail.
I also enjoy exploring the limitless possibilities for the manipulation of
images available through digital techniques. Ansel Adams is quoted as
having said "Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes
God made in establishing tonal relationships." The new options offered
to the photographic artist extend that concept to many other areas such
as color, texture, and lighting.
